I shalt not ever project,
That inside which I bear,
For I am the guardian,
Watching over those who are scared.
I shalt not ever falter,
This journey is my own,
I shall watch over others,
While fighting my demons alone.
I shalt not ever abandon,
This sacred oath I’ve sworn,
Yet I do not recall the ceremony,
For this title I adorn.
I shalt not ever question,
This narrative I’ve spun,
For if I start to doubt it,
My life might become undone.
I shalt not ever fail,
Even if I’ve had enough,
I was built to withstand anything,
By a man known for being tough.
Finally the day arrives,
”I cannot be who you need,”
No one I’ve protected seems to care,
Time to find another life to lead.
